New Year ♥

I love New Year. It's always been my favorite holiday or happening or whatever you want to call it. Mainly because of the fireworks. What other event has more firework displays other than New Year's Eve, right? Fireworks are so magical :>

Anyway, an hour before the clock struck 12 on New Year's Eve, me and my brother decided to climb up the roof and stay to watch some amazing firework displays for just a little while. About 10 minutes before the strike of midnight, we decided to go down to join our family. We traditionally light firecrackers/fireworks during New Year. Anyway, my brother got to go down oh so easily. I, on the other hand, couldn't go down because, well, I am smaller than my brother. While debating with my dad and my brother and after much teasing I got from them, the whole village turned black. The whole village experienced a black out. Why, hello Merville friends. I screamed my lungs out, because I was in the roof, alone with only the darkness. Oh the horror. And if that wasn't enough, I saw the electric pole beside our house spark. Eeeek! I seriously thought I was going to be final destination-ed. In panic, I almost jumped down the roof. :))

After that, we still lighted some fireworks and firecrackers. :))) I love our tradition. It's the only time when my immediate family is really, well, together, I guess? It's fun too. Hahaha. The lusis that my dad bought were defective though. Some of it exploded unexpectedly. Gaaah-so scary. It's my first time to light some kwitis too. :> I feel so daredevil-sh now. :))

For some unexplainable reason, we went to Antipolo after the peak of fireworks and firecrackers. Well, okay, I suggested it but I never thought that we'd actually do it. My dad just wanted to drive around and all, and I suggested that we go to Antipolo and we did. Hahaha. We didn't really know what to do and we rode there via multicab. Wow, ha. :))

It was an hour drive and it was my first time there. :> We went somewhere we could see the Manila skyline and it was kind of a lost cause since the smog covered everything :|

Still it's an awesome start of the New Year, so it seems.

What's great about the New Year and what I love about it the most (besides the fireworks, of course) is that we have a chance to start over. The New Year offers us a clean slate-a new beginning even, maybe. It's the chance to finally leave the fuck ups and the bullshit of the past year.

It's not to say that once the clock strikes 12, a life changing opportunity or moment will happen (though I'm not discarding that possibility). But you get the chance to do just that-a life changing something. The New Year is the hope that everything goes well, for the year to come, it's the chance to make things right.

Here's to a new year and to all the wrongs and rights that we are bound to do within the year. But most of all, to chances and hopes that can make things happen.

UPM Lantern Parade and a Sleepover

Soooo, yesterday was the UP Manila lantern parade. Woo-hoooo [cue in party music here]. This is big news right here because I didn't join last year's parade as a freshie. Everyone in my then college, CAS (College of Arts and Sciences) didn't really make an effort to encourage people to join. Plus, I thought that it would be kind of corny to join the parade since it's a short walk to PGH and back, so yeah.

Me and my friends suddenly decided to join the lantern parade. I mean, we decided like on the spot, we didn't plan to go and all although we ordered a shirt-thankfully! My college now, CAMP (College of Allied Medical Professions) made it a point to make a career out of the lantern parade. I mean, everyone was just really into it-every single person (mostly juniors though because it's 25% of their grade in one subject. Hihihi.)

Anywaaay, we joined the parade and it was fun! One of the best experiences in my school life to be honest. Hooray to fickle mindedness, impulsiveness and spontaneity. We cheered, shouted, ran, walked, sang, danced and sweat. It was not only one of the best but it was also one of the most tiring! And you know what? It was worth it. Guess who won 2nd place for the best lantern and the title for Merriest Crowd? YOU GOT IT! We did, we did! :> :)))

I love my college. CAMP is simply LOVE. ♥

After the parade, we decided to go to Mel's place to hang out. We ate delicious dinner and played card games and I Never. Boy, some serious stuff were revealed ;) Ha. Ha. Ohh, stalking people took up most of our time :)) I failed to go home and I got to sleep at Mel's place. Actually, all of us did-Ancie, Jessica, Bia and myself. The only bad thing out of that was that I didn't get to attend the first day of Simbang Gabi :| FML.

Anyway, today, I got to fetch my sister from school right after waking up from Mel's place and eating brunch. Yes, I didn't get to bathe at all. Oh my god, like why am I really telling you about my total lack of hygiene that day? :))) For more information, I asked my sister to smell me if I smelled bad, she said no. SUCCESS :))) That was my first time leaving home and commuting without even taking a bath. Ewwwww. :| :))) I am seriously never doing that again, ever.

It was an eventful start of the Christmas vacation. Now it's time to be lazy and be fat. HAHAHA

PS: I am waiting for Mel to upload our pictuures from the "sleepover" :)))

Pseudo Christmas Parties

Today, I got to spend time with three of my group of friends.

First, I was with my closest friends in the block: Ishie and Carol. Benj was suppose to be there but he wasn't replying to any of my text messages or answering any of my calls. Gaaaah. Anywaaay, I got to spend time with them and ate lunch with them. Hihihi <3 I missed these people. I don't get to spend as much time with them as I did before because I shifted courses and we have different subjects now.

Second, I got to spend time with my best friends: Mel and Jamil. You can say I love these girls the most though. We rarely see each other but when we do, it's like we never even stopped seeing each other. Hihihi. Surprisingly, we haven't overgrown each other (despite knowing each other for about 10 years now) and hopefully, we won't either. So we went to Mel's place and watched Harry Potter and pigged out with some pizza and chips and nuts and everything! :)) Hahaha. Italicized watched because we didn't really watch. We just talked and caught up with each other. Mwahaha.

Lastly, me and a couple of SP lateral friends went to Rosanna's house in Dasma. It was kind of an SP lateral Christmas Party, except we weren't complete >.> Anywaaay, we played games and we made kwentuhan and everything. Hihihi. I love my SP friends too! We all have a general personality-fun and noisy and talkative. Hahaha. That's why it's so fun to be with them. I got to get home at about 1:00 in the morning.

So, even if I didn't really do anything today, I wouldn't call it unproductive since I got to spend it with some important people in meh life. My friends are awesome :> Time you had fun wasting is not wasted time. That's a quotation by someone famous I forgot. Haha. :) But it definitely applies right? Haha.

Ling Exam and a Happy Birthday to the most Awesome Mom, MINE

Straight to the point, the Ling exam was hard. It was a brain drainer. I really didn't expect it to be that hard. It wasn't Chem or Math hard, but it was hard considering it's a communications subject. Everyone else also thought so because all of us were whining bout how we think we failed the first and supposedly easiest exam of the subject. Gaaaaah, just kill me now. A shot in the head would be fast and painless. I seriously want to cry my eyeballs out but it's over and I can't really do anything about it now. Le sigh.

Fast forward to the good part, please? That would be my mom's birthday! Yaaaaaaay! \:D/ She just turned 36. Yes, I have a young mother. Anywaaay, a very happy birthday to the most awesome mother in the world. My mom is theee best of the best and I love her to death. :) I hope she had a great birthday even if we didn't do anything special. I feel so guilty about not being able to buy her a gift :||
Ma, happy birthday. I love you soo much, I hope I say that enough. It's been a rough year but know that I still love you and care about you the same. I know that you're stressed out because of a lot of things. Always remember that me and my siblings are always here for you though. Well, mostly me. loljk. :)) Anywaaay, a very happy birthday. :>

Agaaaaain, a happy happy birthday to my mom. I love her the most ♥

Twice on Television in One Day

I feel famous. looool, not really though. So I was probably in television twice tonight. Why? Today is the oblation run and I got to watch it for the first time. Also, my professor in Hum who was a former child star was featured in one of the programs in GMA and our class was one of the classes that were asked to participate. So yeah.

Sooo, our professor in Hum is a former child actor and GMA is doing a feature on child stars who are teaching right now. So voila, our professor was picked as one of the featurees (not a real word). Anyway, our class was at 7:00 and people from GMA arrived at 8:15 or something like that. They got lost; they thought it was going to be in UP Diliman. Gaaah. "Gusto ko sana sa class niyo yung kunan eehh, kasi dito madaming magaganda" Those were our professor's words. Mwahahaha. I feel flattered even if I know he's not even referring to me. :)) My appearance in television was confirmed by my friend. She said she saw me and my friend, Mary (who is beyond beautiful, by the way) when she was watching the news. So yeah. I'm too afraid to watch it since I probably look like crap. I didn't know so I didn't prepare, hahaha.

Anywaaaay, today is also the annual and the infamous Oblation Run. Brrrr- just typing it sends shivers down my spine. This year, I got to watch it for the first time and it was accidental too. Our classes dismissed at 11:30 and coincidentally, the Oblation Run this year starts at 11:30. I had no time to escape. Me and my friends were by the stairs and suddenly, the coordinators/organizers asked everyone to stay in place already because it was about to start. We were forbidden to go anywhere else-they said we might disrupt the flow of the run or something :|| TOTALLY NO ESCAPE. So me, Bia, Jessica and Ancie watched it together. Mary and Mel were at the other side of the lobby and they got to watch too. Mel and Mary are my friends who didn't want to watch it too, but got forced into watching it, like me. Hahaha.

Soo, yeah, I ended up watching it. It was shocking and gross, gaaaah. I don't get why people watch this every year. But I am somehow thankful that I got to watch it at least once. It's UP tradition after all.

Pillars of the Earth

Me and my mom just finished watching Pillars of the Earth and may I just say it is beyond awesome? :') It's soo beautiful and I bet it's even more so in the book. That's why I downloaded an E-book, but I still want a real book-hardbound and all! Anywaaay, the story's really captivating and it gets you hooked right away.

The Pillars of the Earth is just a mini-series so it only has 8 episodes. Plus, soo many known actors and actresses played in this series. Every episode is full of awesomeness and so much content. Gaaaah. WHAT IT AWESOME? This is pure awesomeness, I tell you.

So after I finished watching the whole series, I went into research mode and read about the Salisbury Cathedral and The Anarchy and King Stephen and all that shit. There's so much darkness in the show, Iike it. It's a happy ending though, just so you know- which makes me love it even more. Gaaaaah.

I am now off, to read the book and fangirl some more :') Here are some trailers to get you excited, that is if you ever plan to watch it. :>

Bia's 18th and Noli the Opera :>

Yooo, I kind of sorta just woke up from my 18 hour sleep. I had such a super awesome long and tiring weekend.

FRIDAY

Friday was the most tiring, obviously. The day started at maybe about 5:00 in the morning because I had classes at 7:00AM and the day NEVER ended. Sooo, as stated above, I had classes at 7:00 and my classes ended at about 1:00. I went home with friends since we were to prepare for Bia's debut. I didn't even get to sleep in the three hours that we stayed in the house before preparing. Anywaaay, we left the house at about 7, I think and we arrived at the venue at about 8:30. It was a looong ride considering that from Merville we only had to go to The Fort, damn traffic. :|

So Bia welcomed us when we arrived and she was soo beautifuuuul. I swear it, she was soo gorgeous, she was like a princess! :> Anywaaay, there was a program at the start, and then we all ate-the food was awesome! Hihihihi, I kind of ate a lot because I was honestly so hungry :)) Sorry for being a pig at a formal-ish pa
rty. Anywaaay, after eating, it was time for the 18 wishes which I was part of, hihihi. I have stage fright, remember? It's a good thing I didn't screw up giving Bia a speech though :>

After the 18 wishes, it was time to legitimately party! \:D/ We took some photos at the photo booth thing and we drank some shots and we danced and partied. It was seriously sooo awesome and fun. It was nice that the party was a complete and total over the roof success because the debutant worried about it. She was being all ~paranoid~ and stuff. :))

This is a wacky shot. I love my lateral friends :>

Laterals + Chem friends' table :> :D

Anywaaay, we got home safe and sound and in the middle of the night. I had to climb up our very tall gate in heels and in a dress because they didn't leave the house open. Yes, paint a picture in your head, why don't you? Anywhooo, a couple of my friends slept over because they had absolutely no way of getting back to their places. I don't even think "slept over" is the right word for it since we didn't really get to sleep at all! We just talked about a lot of stuff-life and all. LOLJK. :)) But really, we just talked a lot. Hahaha.

SATURDAY

I don't even know how I parted Friday and Saturday because I really can't tell which day was which, now that I think about it. It's all just ONE LOOONG day for me, really. Anywaaay, at this point, I already had 24 hours of totally no sleep. Mwahahaha. We had to wake up at about 5:00 to prepare because we had to leave at 6:00 because some of my friends had classes that day. PLUS, I had an opera to attend at UP Diliman. What the actual fuck, right?

Anywaay, we successfully finished preparing by 6:00-which is a goddamn miracle if you ask me because SOME of us are really really slow in preparing. Hahaha. You know who you are ;) Anywaaay, we got to UP Manila a little after 7:00 but it's okaay. At least it wasn't THAT bad of tardiness. Hehe.

I left UP Manila right away, since I had to be at UP Diliman before 9:00. Me and my friend Mary, were to meet up long before the opera started. In case you're wondering, we watched the Noli me Tangere the Opera in UP Diliman because we were required by our professor in PI100. So yeah, we were forced into watching it.

I got to UPD at about 8:30-9:00, my memory is a blur. I was in bangag mode by that time already. Hahaha. I met up with Mary and we were first in line to get in the theater. We got good seats-2nd row and center, boo-yeah! It's a wonder that I didn't fall asleep during the opera because I have to admit that there were some dull moments (Ibarra and Maria Clara moments, ahem)

Overall, the opera was amaaazing! That was money well spent! I am actually glad that we were forced into watching that because if not, I wouldn't have experienced it's awesomeness. The cast was a genius and so was the orchestra. The people who composed the songs are totally amazing! Gaaaah. The boy who played Basilio moved me to actual flowing tears and the little boy who played Crispin was oh so adorable, I just want to hug him all day looong! The cast had superb voices-naturally. They gave me goosebumps-good goosebumps, that is.

After that, I got home, slept and 18 hours later, here I am. :> It was definitely one of the LONGEST weekends ever. But one of the more awesome ones at that!
